Coming from Canada to Gold Coast for part of our vacation, our stay at Sun Towers Dec31/12 to Jan3/13 was very disappointing..For the price we paid it was disgusting..The room was dirty..Some of the crockery and cutlery were dirty..The bedding was not fresh..There were some "sketchy" white spots on the duvet cover..One of the sheets in the 2nd bedroom had old blood stains on..The dust was thick on the ceiling fans and curtains..Dirt under the tv stand that could have been swept up with a good cleaning crew..Walking into that room left us cringing..My sister had to wash up the dishes/cutlery before we could use them (we would have done that any way but the state they were in made it necessary)..My daughter slept on the couch because that seemed to be the cleanest place..There was some disgusting splash up the wall/ceiling on the balcony that I'm sure is still there..We called the manager's office the next morning to voice our concerns and the manager's husband came up right away to wash 1 window that was so dirty one could not see through it..sea air notwithstanding..he also cleaned the dust off the ceiling fans..(we do have the pictures)..The photo's above are very deceiving..My Mom and I went down to the swimming pool the next morning but found 2 condoms floating there so never did swim in their pool..This obviously is not in the control of the management but the "cherry on top" of our bad experience..The manager offered us a bottle of wine from behind a closed door as an apology for the poor state of the room, however, we are yet to see that bottle of wine..All in all, this was a very disappointing experience for us and we will NEVER go there again.. I suggest that the management go over each room after the cleaning crew have been in (a surface scan is not cutting it), to make sure these issues are taken care of..There was really no reason that room should have been in that disgusting state.. On the up side, The Sunshine Coast has a lovely little place in Alexander Head with very clean cabins for the same price and we didn't even feel like we needed a shower after walking in..
